Ex TVB Star Coffee Lam Called A “Bad Mother” For Not Knowing That Her Son, 3, Had Severe Tooth Decay
Poor boy. Thankfully, he's okay now.
Former TVB star Coffee Lam was on the receiving end of very nasty remarks last September when she got into a tub naked with her three-year-old son T.Y. for a photo.
Now, the 32-year-old's parenting skills have been criticised again.
It started when T.Y.’s upper lip swelled up and his teeth turned black overnight.
A worried Coffee, who had thought it was nothing more than an inflammation, asked her followers on Instagram if any of them had experienced this problem before.
T.Y.'s lip looked so swollen
After reading messages from other parents, Coffee realised that the problem was a lot more serious than she thought and so she quickly booked an appointment with a pediatric dentist.
There, she was told that T.Y. had cavities, and that the swelling was due to the severe tooth decay.
The dentist explained that the decay was likely due to T.Y.'s habit of drinking milk at night. He also advised Coffee not to let her son use swallowable toothpaste as it can't clean teeth properly.

When Coffee posted the diagnosis on Instagram, she ended up getting flamed by netizens for being a “bad mother” as they felt that she “didn’t even know what’s wrong with her own child”.
Netizens also asked her to “pay more attention to [her] son and stop ignoring him”.
The former actress wasn’t about to let netizens walk all over her. She shot back, “How many mothers become depressed after hearing such words? Can you be a little more empathetic? It’s my first time being a mother. I didn’t ignore him; I didn’t know what to do! You’ll live a happier life if you stop saying such toxic things.”
