Christy Chung’s Daughter Breaks Down On IG; She Clarifies She’s Just “Emotional” And Not Having Boyfriend Problems
Nope, Yasmine Ross isn’t crying over any boy.
However, a recent Instagram Stories update from her had netizens worried about her emotional and mental state. It also sparked rampant speculations that she’s having relationship problems.
Yasmine isn’t afraid to flaunt her body — or her mind, for that matter
In the clips, which were uploaded last Sunday (Nov 1), a bare-faced and distressed-looking Yasmine was seen shedding tears before completely breaking down on the floor. “I’ve been feeling intense emotions recently, ones that I couldn’t exactly identify,” she wrote. “I’ve been overwhelmed with the need to release without any judgement.”
She also shared that she “had an intense start to Halloween” and that she wanted to remind her some 20K followers that “life gets hard sometimes and it’ll only get harder if we don’t embrace it”. “So here is my messy face, know that you aren’t alone if you’ve been [feeling] some intense emotions.”
Yasmine, whose father is Christy’s first husband, British businessman Glen Ross, then reassured everyone that she’s “doing fine! Just a little fragile”.

A good cry usually does make things feel better
Some netizens and journos suspected that Yasmine might have broken up with her boyfriend, especially since it’s been months since she last posted anything about him. She previously shared a photo of herself attending a charity gala with him, Christy, and Christy’s husband Zhang Lunshuo in November last year (see below).

It looks like Yasmine may have caught wind of the media reports surrounding the possible reasons behind her breakdown. She has since taken to Instagram once again to clear the air in both English and Chinese.
“I just wanted to say that I’m fine, truly I’m fine,” she said. “I just wanted to show that kind of vulnerable side that isn’t really seen very often and encourage you guys to lean into that feeling [of] how some days it’s laughing one moment and crying the next. It’s so beautiful to experience those two polarities, but truly I am fine and I thank you for all the loving messages.”

The Canada-based beauty also clarified that she certainly wasn’t shedding tears over a boy. “It’s also interesting that most of you assume it has something to do with love and heartbreak,” she added. “It doesn’t, I’m just going through a lot of self-growth and I’m emotional.”
Yasmine is just the latest second-gen star to get candid about her feelings, no matter how unglam and not-so-’gram-worthy they may be. Earlier this year, Jada Li, whose dad is martial arts superstar Jet Li, admitted that she was “experiencing a pretty bad relapse” with anxiety and depression amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Former Cat III actress Veronica Yip’s daughter Victoria Wu has also written a blog post detailing her mental disorders, including depression, anxiety, OCD, and ADHD.
