Christy Chung, 49, Isn’t Going To Let COVID-19 Disrupt Her Baby-Making Plans

Christy and Shawn, as well as Christy’s two daughters from her previous marriage, Cayla, nine, and Jaden, 11 are now staying with Shawn’s parents in Beijing. And the family has been spending a lot of time at home since most of their work engagements have been cancelled due to COVID-19.

When asked how she spends her days now, Christy said: “I was too busy before this, but I'm making use of this period to learn something new, like dance and the piano. My husband has been having dance-offs with my daughters, and they even post the clips online. I’ll also take note of the latest developments regarding COVID-19 every day. The impact COVID-19 has on the world is very big, and it has allowed me to learn how to be grateful, and to cherish [those around me]. My husband has not been home for such a long period of time since he turned 18, so we’re all cherishing this period.”

In previous interviews, Christy had shared that really wants to have a kid with Shawn because he's an only child and she feels she needs to give his parents their first grandchild. So when Christy was asked if she's still continuing with her IVF treatments, she said: “We've stopped because the hormone injections caused me to put on a lot of weight. Now, I’ve switched to trying traditional Chinese medicine to condition my body”.

And no, COVID-19 is not disrupting their baby-making plans at all.

“We’ve not cut down [on anything], we’ll just let nature take its course,” she laughed when asked if the pandemic has changed their plans to have a baby together.
