If there’s one celebrity who just can’t seem to do anything right in the eyes of netizens, it’s Christine Fan. The Taiwanese singer often gets into trouble for what she posts on social media and has been mercilessly attacked for even the most innocuous things, such as sharing inspiring quotes, expressing excitement for a new song, or complaining about a cancelled flight.
While those incidents are relatively recent, there is one older ‘trespass’ for which some people apparently refuse to forgive the 44-year-old. In 2000 (yes, two whole decades ago), Christine said she was a student at the prestigious Harvard University, but it was later revealed that she had actually gone to Harvard Extension School instead and did not complete her degree as she returned to Taiwan to pursue a singing career.
This led Christine to be accused of lying about her academic credentials, and it’s still something she gets criticised for to this day despite her attempts to clarify the situation.
