Chris Wang welcomes second child, nicknamed YOLO
The actor personally snipped off his baby’s umbilical cord
Taiwanese actor Chris Wang welcomed his second child, a baby boy nicknamed YOLO yesterday night.
The 35-year-old’s wife, Li Yi Xian, was expected to go into labour next Wednesday (July 5), but she unexpectedly started experiencing labour pains yesterday, and was rushed to the hospital.
At 9PM, Chris’s manager announced that Yi Xian had given birth to baby YOLO, who weighed in at 3.03 kilograms. Shortly after that, Chris uploaded a picture of the hands of his family-of-four, captioning it, “Finally, our second child was born safely!”
The actor also shared a short video of him cutting the umbilical cord of his son, letting on that when his eldest child, a two-year-old girl nicknamed Lei Lei, was born, he was so inexperienced that he forgot to take part in this important ritual. Luckily, he was able to finally fulfill his wish this time round.
As for baby YOLO’s nickname, it was revealed that YOLO actually stands for “You Only Live Once”, and is actually part of the name of his self-established company, which is named ‘YesYOLO’ in English.
The actor registered his marriage to his manager and agent, Lin Yi-xian in April 2015, two weeks after welcoming their first child together. He took a break from showbiz last year to travel the world with his family. The couple announced that they were expecting their second child, a boy in March this year.
