Single’s Inferno’s Choi Mina Sue Reportedly In “Reflection Mode” After Intense Backlash For Her Actions On The Show

The most talked-about contestant on the fifth season of Netflix’s Single’s Inferno is undoubtedly Choi Mina Sue. It's not just about her reported wealthy background, or her Miss Earth 2022 title. But the contestant who has been the middle of multiple love triangles on the reality dating show has also become everyone's favourite contestant to roast.

The 26-year-old University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign alum was slammed by viewers for wavering between Song Seung Il, Lim Su Been, and Lee Sung Hun, many labelling her “indecisive”, and “attention-seeking”.

And Mina Sue hasn’t been shy about exploring her options. Other than the three men mentioned above, she has also expressed interest in Woo Sung Min, and Shin Hyeon Woo.

In one episode, she even candidly asked: "Can't we leave Single's Inferno with two men?"

We get it. The girl wants them all.

But it seems people are changing their minds about Mina Sue.

This came after a friend posted a photo of Mina Sue's back view and captioned it: "Reflection mode."

“The more you get to know her, the more you will realise she’s actually a very good person. I hope everyone watches until the end and gives her some time,” her friend added.

Incidentally, this is the same photo that initially led netizens to infer that Mina Sue comes from money because of the Hermes and Louis Vuitton boxes under a Christmas tree.

And people are now becoming kinder to the Single's Inferno contestant.

Netizens have started commenting that they have noticed Mina Sue’s growth on the show, saying she seems to have learnt how to confront her feelings and make clearer choices.

Even the show’s panellists, which include Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, comedian Hong Jin Kyung, actress Lee Da Hee, rapper Han Hae, and season two contestant Kim Jin Young aka Dex, have publicly come out to apologise for their harsh reactions towards Mina Sue’s behaviour after they saw the emotional toll it had taken on her.

Netizens also started reminding everyone that reality shows are heavily edited, and participants can face immense scrutiny long after the final episode ends.

However, some have pointed out that Mina Sue — and any reality show contestant for that matter knew what they signed up for.

“It has been five seasons, these cry babies knew what they were getting into before they signed on the dotted line. Make better choices then,” said a netizen.

Another wrote: “They like all these influencers out there just want fame but can’t handle the heat when they are not worshipped.”
