Former Hong Kong actress and screen siren Chingmy Yau may have retired from the spotlight after tying the knot in 1999, but it seems that her eldest daughter, 18-year-old Sham Yuet, is set to continue her legacy in the entertainment industry.

The 18-year-old has long been dubbed the spitting image of her mother. Earlier this year, Sham Yuet walked the runway at the London Fashion Week, where she modelled the clothes of fashion label Izzue. Izzue is part of the Hong Kong fashion conglomerate I.T, which is run by Sham Yuet’s father and Chingmy’s husband, Sham Kar Wai.

While Chingmy had previously shared that she will not allow her daughters to pursue a career in showbiz, it seems that the actress has since changed her mind.

Sham Yuet recently uploaded a number of pictures on her personal Instagram, announcing that she is the cover model for Elle Hong Kong’s December issue.

“First (magazine) cover in my life!! Thank you,” she wrote in her caption. In recent months, the 18-year-old has been jetting around the world, taking part in fashion shoots in Paris and Tokyo as well.

Netizens have since crowed Sham Yuet the “most gorgeous second-generation celebrity”, with many lauding the 18-year-old for inheriting her mother's good looks.

Chingmy has three daughters with Kar Wai, Sham Yuet, 18, Sham Yat, 15, and Sham Sing, 9.
