Chinese Star Confronts Man Who Secretly Filmed Her On Flight; Claims He Said “Degrading Things About Women”

Yuan Yiqi, a former member of Chinese idol group SNH48, was recently on a flight to Wuhan when she had an unpleasant encounter with a male passenger. 

The 25-year-old noticed the man secretly filming her during the journey. 

After arriving at the airport, Yiqi was seen interacting with her fans and receiving gifts before hurriedly approaching the man to confront him. 

In a clip that has since gone viral online, Yiqi, who was in a mask, said in their face-to-face confrontation: "Please do not film me the next time [you see me] on the plane, then say degrading things about women to your friends."

When the man denied his actions, Yiqi asserted: "You dare not admit to the things you said." 

"I have the things you said recorded here," she said, taking out her phone. 

Yiqi was praised by many netizens for standing up for herself in the uncomfortable situation. 

Turns out, Yiqi had a similarly infuriating encounter with another male passenger last month. 

While flying on a domestic flight from Guangzhou to Shanghai on April 21, the Sichuan native noticed a male passenger changing his seats multiple times just to get closer to her. When they disembarked, the man even followed her to the washroom. 

According to a statement released by Yiqi's fan club, the man was discovered to have brought her exclusive merchandise with him. It led them to believe he had not bumped into her by chance, and deliberately planned to follow her to the washroom. 

His actions were deemed an invasion of Yiqi's privacy, and the fan club promised to cancel his membership and rights to attend fan club events once they confirm his identity.
