Ronaldo’s Best Friend Asks Chinese Influencer For Her Number, She Rejects Him ‘Cos She Didn’t Believe He Was Who He Claimed To Be

We all have regrets we have to live with. For Chinese influencer Du You You, it was spurning Cristiano Ronaldo’s best friend at a football match last month.

You You is a football commentator with over 78K followers on Douyin. She shares plenty of content of herself attending games, and is called “Football Goddess” by her fans.

In a clip that has now gone viral, You You, who was at the Portugal vs Turkey match at UEFA Euro 2024, revealed that a man claiming to be Ronaldo’s best friend had asked for her number.

They were seated next to each other at the VIP section.

“He told me he’s Ronaldo’s best friend but I didn’t believe him. He asked for my number, and I didn’t give it to him,” she said in Mandarin in a vlog of herself at the game.

It wasn’t until she saw the Portuguese players waving at him after the match that she had an inkling the man was telling the truth.

“The Portuguese media even took a photo of us together!” she added.

However, You You left the stadium without looking back. To her, she had already rejected the guy and she's a “strong Chinese woman”.

Well, she did kinda look back though.

She went to look the guy up on the Internet and found out that Ronaldo had given him the jersey he wore during the match. She also found pictures of the guy and Ronaldo hanging out like a pair of bros.

And that’s when the regret set in.

The guy is actually Miguel Paixao, a former football player known for his long-time friendship with Ronaldo.

The two were teammates on Portuguese club Sporting CP’s youth squad in 1997, and have been friends ever since.

Ronaldo and Paixao are very close. Paixao is said to be one of the five people who are allowed into Ronaldo’s personal living spaces. He also often shows up to support his pal at his matches too

Now back to You You’s missed opportunity.

While leaving the venue, she said she was so full of regret, “her intestines were turning blue”.

In her caption, You You said she takes what other people say with a pinch of salt whenever she's overseas as a “precautionary measure”.

Her followers have been teasing her since. Some believed she “could have become Paixao’s wife” while others said she “passed up the chance to dine with Ronaldo on the regular”.

However, a number also felt she did the right thing as there was no reason for her to give her number to a random stranger. 

They believed it would have been wrong for her to give Paixao her number just because he’s Ronaldo’s friend as she had no interest in him in the first place.

“Would you only accept the advances of guys who are friends with famous people?” wondered one netizen.
