Usually, an employee's bonus is dependent on their performance throughout the year.

But for this company in China, it hinges solely on how good one is at, um, counting notes.

In a video that's gone viral on Xiaohongshu, Mainland Chinese company Henan Mining Crane Co., Ltd was seen throwing a dinner to reward staff for their hard work.

But it was no ordinary meal.

What was unmissable was a really long table with nothing but cash on it.

"Henan company is giving out millions for its year-end bonus. Employees can bring home as much cash as they can count," read the caption.

From the clip, staff could be seen stacking up the cash and counting the money as fast as they could.

There was a lady who revealed that she had managed to count $100K yuan (S$18.7K) worth of cash in 15 minutes. Other staff were also seen with thick stashes of cash in their hands.

Henan Mining Crane reportedly made $260mil yuan (S$48mil) in profit last year and they gave out $170mil yuan (S$32mil) to staff for their year-end bonus.

Netizens were definitely envious of the staff at Henan Mining Crane, with one quipping that she's willing to stand there and count the money "for the entire day" if she could.

Is this the literal definition of the Chinese saying: "Count money until your hands turn weak"?
