This Chinese Actress Had To Go To The Hospital After Wearing This Dress On The Red Carpet
“I used my life as collateral for my good figure”.

How far will you go to look good on the red carpet?
For Chinese actress Zhang Meng, well, a visit to the hospital is but a small price to pay for looking good.
On March 1, the 39-year-old made an appearance at the annual Weibo Awards Ceremony where she dazzled in this jade-green dress.
All seemed well with her before the event, with the actress posing up a storm for a series of pictures that she later posted on her Weibo.

All for this one moment in the spotlight
But it looks like Zhang Meng had a high price to pay for choosing to wear the dress, which came with a built-in corset.
Earlier today, she shared a short post on her Weibo, revealing that she’d injured herself pretty badly.
“Red carpet + corset = [a visit to the] orthopedic department? I used my life as collateral for my good figure.” her caption read.

Yup, it’s real alright
And lest you think the actress was exaggerating, she even uploaded a screenshot of her hospital receipt.

That's one tiny waist
Zhang Meng's short Weibo post quickly aroused the attention of netizens, many of whom were worried that she’d done irreversible damage to herself.
Thankfully, she later followed up with a comment on her original post, writing: “Thank you everyone for your concern, it’s not a major issue. When the dress arrived, it was a little small [for me], but I didn’t have the time to alter it. There’s nothing wrong with the dress, I’m just too fat! Everyone, please make sure to take care of your health, even as you continue in your pursuit of beauty!”

This is how she usually looks, sans corset
She also replied a number of comments from netizens who thought that she’d “removed her rib” in order to fit into the dress, writing that she’d simply gone for a quick check-up as her ribs felt “a little sore” after removing the dress last night.
