Taiwanese Influencer Attacked In Public, Says Everyone She Has Had Arguments With Is A Suspect
Imagine minding your own business when you are suddenly clobbered for no apparent reason.
Taiwanese influencer Chen Yee, 39, was reportedly attacked on the streets of Taipei on Monday (Feb 5) by a twentysomething man known only by his surname, Huang.
The incident was also caught on camera and the video showed Huang approaching Chen Yee before striking her with his mobile phone seconds later.

After the police arrived and restrained Huang, he admitted he was intoxicated.
He further said he had mistaken Chen Yee for an ex-girlfriend he met online and had lost control of his emotions in the heat of the moment.
At a press conference yesterday (Feb 6), Chen Yee recounted the incident. She said Huang had approached her and asked, “Are you, Chen Yee? Can I take a photo with you?”
She described his gaze then as "vacant" and when she ignored him, he attacked her.
“I kept trying to escape but the fists kept coming,” she tearfully said.
Chen Yee also shared that she did not believe that it was a case of mistaken identity as he had said her name correctly at the start.
“Everyone I have had arguments with is a suspect,” she bellowed.
She also said that she was lucky to have two bystanders rush to her side to help fend off the attacks. If not for them, she might have ended up in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Showing the bruises on her face and ears at the press conference, Chen Yee shared that she also suffered multiple abrasions on her head and body though there was no concussion.
After the press conference, Chen Yee’s mum was seen going up to comfort her as she cried profusely.
The police also revealed that Huang had a prior criminal record related to drugs and said they were skeptical of his given statement.
Huang has been charged with assault and is currently on bail for NT$50,000 (S$2,140).
However, many aren’t surprised that the Struggling Girls actress was attacked in broad daylight.
Chen Yee has been known to offend people with her harsh remarks in a bid to gain views online.
Her abrasive nature has also made her several high-profile enemies, including fellow influencer Ili Cheng, Taiwanese singer Show Luo, and Taiwanese host Jacky Wu.
Things between Chen Yee and Ili once got so bad that they went to court over an argument.
