Late Taiwanese Actor Chen Song-Yong Reportedly Left S$98K To His Indonesian Helper When He Died
The 80-year-old, who was single and had no children, was said to have treated his helper like his daughter.
Taiwanese actor Chen Song-Yong passed away last week after years of declining health.
The 80-year-old was said to have suffered from various illnesses after retiring from showbiz in 2000.
He was hospitalised in 2009 because of retinal hemorrhage and bleeding in the stomach. In 2016, he was hospitalised twice after suffering a stroke and later, when it was discovered he had a buildup of fluids in his heart.
Songyong in A City of Sadness
Songyong was regarded as one of the best actors in the 80s and 90s, winning the Best Actor award at the Golden Horse awards in 1989 for the movie A City of Sadness, which also starred Tony Leung Chiu-Wai.

A source claiming to be a close friend of the late actor shared that Songyong never married not had children and was cared for by his Indonesian helper Yule in his final years. He’s said to have been very thankful to Yule for seeking urgent medical attention when Songyong required it, and she took such good care of him that he asked her to call him dad.
In order to thank her everything that she did for him, Songyong has asked that NT$2mil (S$98K) be given to Yule after his death so that she can start a business in Indonesia.
