Remember when TVB palace drama War And Beauty was all the rage?

The TVB palace drama, with its tales of palace intrigue and conniving consorts, was an instant hit when it first aired in 2004, catapulting its stars, including Hongkong actresses Charmaine Sheh, 45, and Gigi Lai, 49, into the A-list.

After the drama aired its final episode, many fans hoped to see Charmaine and Gigi act alongside each other once again. Unfortunately, their hopes were dashed when Gigi retired from showbiz in 2008.

In the years since, Gigi has found considerable success as the boss of a skin care business, while Charmaine focused her sights on China, where she’s super popular now.
