"Which Part Of It Tastes Good?!": Charlene Choi Spits Out Durian While Filming In Singapore

When it comes to durians, people either hate them or love them, there's almost never an in-between.

Hong Kong singer Charlene Choi happens to fall into the first group.

Last month, the 41-year-old star was in Singapore with her Twins group mate Gillian Chung, 43, and pal Joey Yung, 43, to film their Douyin travelogue Girls’ Spectacular Journey.

In the series, the tight-knitted trio share about their friendship while exploring cities and trying local food.

During their time here, they visited Lau Pat Sat and sampled durians at durian specialty cafe 99 Old Trees near Chinatown.

At that time, 8days.sg spoke to the cafe's owner Kelvin Tan, who shared that Joey is a durian lover while "Gillian and Charlene, not so much.”

And we finally got to know what he meant when said episode of the series aired earlier this week.

While Charlene, a major foodie, was game enough to try some durian, she immediately spat it out once she registered its taste.

She then whined: "Which part of it tastes good?!"

Of course, durian lover Joey defended her favourite fruit.

"It's fragrant, smooth, soft and has an aftertaste. It's also very therapeutic when you slowly tear off the outer membrane," she gushed.

Charlene then shared that there's another fruit which she hates even more — watermelon.

"I don't like the smell of it. I want to puke whenever I smell it," she complained.

Turns out, she had a very bad experience eating watermelons as a kid.

"I ate it when I was young and because I puked that one time, I never wanted to eat it again. Maybe it's a psychological thing," she explained.

In fact, she was so traumatised by that experience she would pick durians over watermelons if she had to make a choice.
