Chapman To Sarcastically Calls Nicholas Tse A “Role Model For All Chinese People” After Nic Renounces Canadian Citizenship
Chapman has never held back when it comes to expressing his anti-Beijing views.
We suppose it’s not surprising that Chapman To, who has always been unabashedly vocal when it comes to his staunch anti-Beijing views, would have something to say about Nicholas Tse’s recent CCTV interview.
For those who missed it, Nic shared that he has applied for the renunciation of his Canadian citizenship and declared that he is “originally Chinese” since he was born in Hongkong. The 41-year-old also said that he feels the responsibility of “promoting the Chinese spirit and culture” to the world.
The news was met with both positive and negative reactions from netizens, and well, it’s pretty obvious which camp Chapman, 49, would be in.
“I really feel like Nicholas Tse is doing a good job, he is an excellent artiste and a role model for all Chinese people around the world!” he wrote. “Everyone should ‘learn from good example Nicholas Tse’, give up their foreign passports together, and be proud of being Chinese!”
He continued, “We had ‘Learn from Lei Feng (a highly respected Chinese soldier-turned-cultural icon)’ in the past, today we have ‘Learn from Ting Feng (Nic’s Chinese name)’! Give up your foreign passports! No one can be left behind!”
