Cecilia Cheung Sued For S$2.1mil For Allegedly Not Filming Movies She Had Already Been Paid To Do

Hongkong actress Cecilia Cheung is in trouble again after her former agency, AEG Entertainment Group Limited, and its president, Yu Yuk Hing, have filed a lawsuit against her for breach of contract. They are demanding that she pay them HK$12mil (S$2.14mil) in damages.

High Court documents show that the actress signed an eight-year contract with Yuk Hing back in 2011, in which he was promised to have exclusive rights to handle her showbiz activities around the world. He claims to have given her HK$40mil (S$7.13mil) in advance payments and arranged for her to act in four movies.

He also claimed to have signed an additional contract with Cecilia in May 2012 to film two more movies, for which she would be paid HK$20mil (S$3.57mil). Yuk Hing then paid her HK$2.76mil (S$490K) after the contract was signed.
