According to reports, not only did Ceci’s voice sound hoarse, she went off-key, had trouble hitting the high notes, and appeared to be out of breath. She even coughed several times in the middle of the performance, which lasted no more than five minutes.

Ceci herself seemed to be aware of her own lacklustre presentation and apologised to fans, explaining that her throat was not in good condition and that she did not have a rehearsal before the show (what!?). “Although it’s not perfect, I will try my best. I hope you can bear with me,” said the mother-of-three.

However, some netizens were not in the mood to be forgiving. “She sang out of tune and forgot the lyrics. This isn’t due to the lack of rehearsals, but her attitude,” scoffed one, while another accused Ceci of disrespecting the audience as well as herself.

On the other hand, there were those who came to her defense and reminded everyone that she was feeling unwell that day. They also explained that she had missed the rehearsal ‘cos of a flight delay, adding, “She has already given it her best shot and apologised to her fans.”

In any case, we reckon Ceci had better buck up and take good care of her voice since she has reportedly signed on for the second season of reality talent show Sisters Who Make Waves.
