TVB Actress Cayley Mak Says She Was Sexually Harassed By A Sound Guy On Set; Reveals His Full Name In An IG Post
She said he had pulled her skirt open to put the mic on her without any warning.
TVB actress Cayley Mak, 33, is definitely not one to suffer in silence.
The actress, who got her start in showbiz after taking part in 2007’s Miss Hongkong Pageant, took to her IG page on May 30 to post an angry recount of how she was sexually harassed by the sound guy on the set of her new drama.
Not only did she give a detailed description of how it happened, she also revealed his full name.
According to Cayley, it's the first time she worked with the man.
“I’ve never met such an unprofessional boom operator, who has no respect for female actresses,” she wrote, adding that he had gruffly pulled open her skirt from the back to put a mic below her waist.
“He then continuously adjusted the mic left and right, which left me shocked and feeling uncomfortable. When I was finally able to react, I snatched the mic from him and said I could do it myself,” she added.
She said that the boom operator looked extremely disgruntled after that and displayed a really bad attitude.
Cayley asserted that she's unable to accept what the sound guy did, whether it was unintentional or not.
She feels that all sound operators in the industry should be clear on what they can and can’t do.
“When helping actors with their mics, [they should know] never to act so inappropriately," she wrote.
As such, she decided to publicly name and shame the man. She also told the producer of the show about what happened.
Cayley's colleagues and followers have since showed their support for the actress, with many sayin that no one should be caught in such situations.
