Casino King Stanley Ho Has Passed Away At The Age Of 98
He is survived by his three wives and 15 children.
After years of battling a host of health issues, Macau casino king Stanley Ho passed away at the age of 98 at the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital this afternoon (May 26).
News of his deteriorating health first surfaced yesterday (May 25) when doctors called his family to mentally prepare them for the worst. According to Hongkong media, Stanley appeared to show signs of improvement when his loved ones paid him a visit, but his body grew too weak to receive any more life-sustaining intracardiac injections and he eventually succumbed to his ailments at 1.05pm the next day.

According to reports, Stanley had been warded in an intensive care unit since February last year. In addition to suffering from a stroke, Stanley was also diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and kidney failure, but the long-term dialysis treatment only made things worse and even caused his heart to stop at one point.
All three of his wives, Lucina Laam, Ina Chan, and Angela Leong, were said to be by his side since yesterday morning. His daughter Josie Ho was also spotted outside the hospital and admitted to visiting her father, but did not confirm anything about his illness and simply said that his condition was “not bad”. Another daughter, Pansy Ho, had originally denied he was in critical condition as well.

Stanley is survived by 15 of 17 children he had with four women (his first wife, Clementina Leitão, passed away in 2004) and a sprawling casino empire that made him one of Asia’s richest men with an estimated personal fortune of HK$50bil (about S$9.2bil).
