BY2’s Yumi denies reports of illegitimate child with Stanley Ho's son
The singer pleaded for the rumourmongers to “leave her alone”
Over the weekend, a slew of reports have popped up, alleging that the younger member of Singaporean BY2 pop duo, Yumi, welcomed an illegitimate child with her ex-boyfriend, Hong Kong casino heir Mario Ho. Mario’s father is billionaire casino tycoon, Stanley Ho.
Back in 2015, the duo were reported to have had an acrimonious breakup after Mario allegely to have cheated on Yumi. Mario is currently rumoured to be dating Chinese supermodel Ming Xi.
On Saturday (April 13), Yumi posted on her Weibo account denying the reports.
“We’ve stayed strong over the years because of our music, but have gradually lost steam after being affected by rumours,” she wrote, indirectly clarifying that the reports of her giving birth were false.
She also went on to confirm that BY2 is currently preparing for their newest album and thanked everyone who has supported them. “After getting targeted even while laying low, becoming a scapegoat all these years, please leave me alone, and stop using me to fabricate rumours,” she concluded.
Mario has also issued a denial, writing, “If you manage to find evidence that I’ve indeed fathered an illegitimate child, then I’d trouble you to come forward and contact me. My mum would love to have a grandchild. If you can find it, bring the child along for a DNA test and I’ll foot the bill. If it is indeed true, I’ll give you HKD$100 million(S$17.25 million) as a token of appreciation for giving the Ho family their newest member.”
