BTS' V Begs Fans To Stop Following Him Back To Hotel While They're On Tour; Reveals He's Been Sleeping Just 2.5 Hours

They say fame comes with a price, and it couldn't be more true for someone as famous as V.

Recently, the BTS member, aka Kim Taehyung, took to K-pop fan communication platform Weverse to ask fans for greater privacy around where members are staying while they're on their world tour.

The seven-member group is currently in the midst of the European leg of their “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’”, with 10 shows scheduled across Madrid, Brussels, London, Munich and Paris.

“We are very grateful for the warm welcome, but if possible, please refrain from coming all the way to the hotel," urged the 30-year-old star.

V shared that downtime during tours is "very precious" to him, including simple pleasures such as visiting local restaurants and strolling through cities during his free time. 

"I also don’t want to disclose where I’m staying, and it affects my performance condition as well, so I’m asking for your understanding," he wrote.

To hammer home his point, V even revealed his sleep tracking data, which showed that he's only had just two hours and 27 minutes of sleep one night. That included 21 minutes of REM sleep and 37 minutes of deep sleep, underscoring the physical toll of touring.

According to reports, V's remarks came shortly after BTS' agency, BigHit Music, reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on stalking and invasions of its artists' privacy.

The agency also highlighted that an individual accused of repeatedly stalking an artist and trespassing at the artist's residence had been arrested and later sentenced to one year in prison, with the sentence suspended for two years.

After the post, many fans left comments urging an end to the harassment.

“It’s heartbreaking that he had to personally ask for his privacy to be respected”, wrote one fan.

“Having to continue a tour after only a little over two hours of sleep must be incredibly exhausting," another lamented.
