BTS' Jin Reportedly Makes S$7mil Profit After Selling Seoul Luxury Apartment

There's no denying BTS is one of the biggest music acts in the world today. And with that level of success comes the ability to invest in some very prime real estate.

According to Korean media, BTS member Jin, 33, has sold a luxury apartment in one of Seoul's most exclusive residential developments.

Located in the prestigious Hannam The Hill complex in Yongsan District, the 235 sq m apartment was reportedly sold for 12.7bil Korean won (about S$11.4mil), with the ownership transfer recently completed.

It also turned out to be an incredibly profitable investment.

Jin reportedly purchased the property in 2019 for 4.5bil won (around S$4.1mil), paying the full amount in cash without taking out any bank loans. Korean media reported at the time that he had bought the apartment for his parents.

Seven years later, the home's value had nearly tripled, netting Jin an estimated profit of 8.2bil won (approximately S$7.3mil).

To top it off, the sale reportedly set a new record for the highest transaction price ever achieved at Hannam The Hill.

Korean media also noted that Jin's timing worked in his favour. He reportedly sold the property just before South Korea reinstated higher capital gains taxes for multiple property owners, meaning the transaction was taxed under the previous rules instead of the updated policy.

Completed in 2011, Hannam The Hill is widely regarded as one of Seoul's most prestigious and expensive residential developments.

The luxury estate comprises 32 buildings with 600 units and has long been home to celebrities, business tycoons, politicians and other high-profile residents, cementing its reputation as one of South Korea's most coveted addresses.

It costs quite a pretty penny to live in this luxury apartment complex.
