Bosco Wong, 42, Says He’s Still Single ‘Cos His Mum Has Driven Away Many Of His Girlfriends
The Hong Kong actor, who famously dated Myolie Wu for eight years, says he has so many friends that he doesn’t feel lonely.

Looks like Hong Kong actor Bosco Wong, who has reputation for being a ladies’ man, isn’t ready to part ways with his bachelor lifestyle.
The 42-year-old got candid about his love life during a recent interview with Commercial Radio Hong Kong, saying that he is so busy with work and has so many friends that he doesn’t feel lonely.
Over the years, though some of his friends have gotten attached or settled down, he’s not envious of them and has no desire to start a family of his own.
"Maybe it’s because I grew up in a single-parent family. Since I was a kid, I never thought about what age I want to get married or how many children I want. My mother has never rushed me [to get married]," he said.
In fact, his mum could be the reason he’s still single.
“You want to be my girlfriend? You have to get past my mum first. I don’t know how many girls she’s driven away,” he quipped.
Bosco’s most high profile relationship was with actress Myolie Wu, whom he dated for eight years.
The pair broke up in 2012 and are still on good terms. Myolie married businessman Philip Lee in December 2015 and the couple have three adorable sons, Brendan, five, Ryan, three, and Liam, one.
Besides Myolie, Bosco has also been linked to starlets like Rose Chan, Jennifer Yu and Sophia Zhang, though he denies being in relationships with any of them.
While Bosco cannot recall how long he’s been single, he admitted that there have been some under-the-radar relationships over the years.
Bosco previously shared that his girlfriend has to accept that his friends are more important than she is, cannot be too clingy, and must not get upset when he is rumoured to be linked with other women.
During the interview, Bosco also talked about the time when he crossed over to singing in 2008.
He admitted that it was against his own will and that he “had no say” then.
"At that time, every rising star had to release songs, and I just did as I was told," he said. It was a very challenging period for him as he was busy filming and had no time to juggle singing.
“I had three days to learn to sing and dance. I remember we shot a music video in Central… The choreographer taught me the moves as we filmed,” he recalled.
Another memorable incident was when he was randomly picked to perform 'King of Karaoke' live with Eason Chan at the 2008 Jade Solid Gold Best Ten Music Awards Presentation and was panned by netizens .
"The pressure was so crazy. I just had to make it work. I had never practiced the song before," said Bosco.
Though he was mocked by netizens for many years, Bosco is not affected by the criticism.
"I don’t depend on singing for my livelihood and have never been trained professionally before, so it's normal to have flaws," he said.
