"The Spaghetti Was Cold": Netizen Criticises Bosco Wong's Oyster Bar For Bad Service & Food

The netizen claimed the staff told her they would change the pasta but came back with the same plate of spaghetti.
"The Spaghetti Was Cold": Netizen Criticises Bosco Wong's Oyster Bar For Bad Service & Food

Last week (Apr 8), Bosco Wong's Tsim Sha Tsui restaurant-bar OysterMine finally reopened after undergoing renovation.

Many fans quickly flocked there to support the 42-year-old Hong Kong actor's F&B venture, with some lucky enough to get served by Bosco.

But what the actor did not expect was for Oystermine — which already suffered financial losses during the pandemic — to get slammed on social media just a few days after its reopening.

The netizen got to meet Bosco too

Taking to Chinese social media platform Xiao Hong Shu to share her grievances, a netizen claimed in her lengthy post that the bistro's "manager had a very bad attitude".

Tagging Bosco in her post, she also criticised the food for "not being hot", and said that she was not served everything she had ordered.

So much to complain

Though the netizen did share that Bosco was really friendly, the rest of her experience at the restaurant turned out really bad.

"They made us sit outdoors, but after we sat down, no one came to attend to us," she lamented. "We had to call for them many times even though there weren't many people in the shop and the staff were just standing around."

"An assistant manager finally came over, but he was extremely impatient and didn't have very good attitude," she added.

"Maybe he's too busy, and was annoyed because he had to maintain order since there were too many fans?," questioned the netizen.

The pasta that the netizen ordered at Bosco's restaurant

The netizen, who ordered a seafood platter, pasta and some roasted vegetables, was also disappointed with the food, claiming that her "spaghetti was cold".

"I thought it's meant to be eaten cold, but it was hot on the inside. The staff said they'd change it for me, but they brought back the exact same plate. How did I realise it was the same plate? Because the spaghetti that I cut into half was still in the same position," she claimed.

In addition, they didn't even serve her the vegetable dish she ordered. When she informed the staff about it, she said all they did was to apologise and remove the dish from the bill. They also gave her two cups of lychee soda for free.

Waitaminute... isn't that great recovery by the staff? Turns out it just wasn't enough for the netizen.

"Getting this kind of service when they just reopened made me very disappointed. I spent money to suffer and had to pay for the service when they didn't even serve me," she whined.

Some customers are just really hard to please

Some customers have since defended the restaurant in the comments, claiming that Bosco's restaurant is one of the most value-for-money celebrity eateries around.

They claimed that the food there is great and the portions are big, and even joked that they'd need more of these criticisms to appear so that it would be easier for them to make reservations in the future.
