Bosco Wong, 44, Says His Mum Is The Reason He's Still Single: "She Loves Chasing My Girlfriends Away"

Ever since ending his high-profile eight-year relationship with ex-girlfriend Myolie Wu in 2012, former TVB actor Bosco Wong's love life has been pretty uneventful. 

The now 44-year-old is still not marrie, while Myolie already has three sons — Brendan, seven, Ryan, five, and Liam, four – with Hong Kong businessman Philip Lee, whom she married in 2015.

Bosco also hasn't gone public with anyone ever since Myolie. 

Recently, the actor shared that he actually has someone to blame for still being single at his age. 

His mother. 

"My mum really loves chasing my girlfriend away," he quipped in an interview.

Bosco, whose parents are divorced, said whenever he dates someone, his mum would start scolding him every day.

"[She does that] even when we’re all having a meal together. After a while, nobody can tolerate that," he lamented.

Bosco also said his mother is quick to express dissatisfaction once she finds something she dislikes about his girlfriend, and would even cuss in front of them to show her disapproval. 

"Out of 10 girlfriends, at least 9.5 [of them] she disliked," he chuckled.

Was Myolie one of them? 

The actor even had to apologise to his girlfriends for his mum's behaviour on multiple occasions, and ultimately had no choice but to stop them from meeting. 

When asked why he's still unmarried, Bosco then joked: “So now it’s better — no marriage. It drives [my mother] nuts! Haha.”

Bosco admitted that marriage has never been a must for him. He's also enjoying singlehood. 

"I don't have to worry about leaving an inheritance. I can spend whatever I earn however I want," he laughed.

Well, that sounds like a plan too.
