Younger Sister Of Selina Jen & Ex-Model Boris Lin End 5-Year Relationship

Sometimes, reporters are just like the kaypoh relatives you meet during Chinese New Year. (Oops, guilty as charged.)

At a recent new series launch event, Taiwanese actress Lorene Jen wasn't spared from incessant questions from reporters.

The 36-year-old was first asked about her elder sister, Selina Jen, who gave birth to a baby boy — nicknamed “Little Cashew” — in September 2023.

Lorene clarified that the now 44-year-old S.H.E member isn’t actually pregnant with a second child, despite the rumours.

"We also hope that maybe [I] can have another little nephew one day. My sister and I are very close, so she hopes her child can also experience the bond that siblings share," said the actress.

"But it can't be forced so we just let nature take its course," she explained.

While Selina is open to the idea of having another baby, Lorene said she doesn't really know if the former is already preparing for a next pregnancy. 

"Right now, she’s very focused on raising [her son]. She’s really devoted and spends a lot of time with him.”

And we already know what the reporters are gonna ask next. 

Back in 2022, Lorene completed her egg freezing procedure and managed to retrieve 19 eggs. 

When urged to have a child of her own soon, she admitted: “My sister has also said that my child would sort of be like a sibling [to hers], but I don’t have such plans right now."

"I don’t have a partner either, so I don’t have that kind of thought for the time being."

Prior to this, Lorene was widely believed to be in a stable relationship with former Taiwanese model Boris Lin, whom she reportedly started dating in 2020. Boris used to be under modelling agency Catwalk but has since left the entertainment industry.

“I just don’t have someone I want to take the next step with," she added. 

Does this mean they've broken up? Lorene was reluctant to go into details. 

“We’re just friends," she stressed.

“Since he’s not an entertainer or a public figure, let’s not discuss his matters too much," said Lorene, adding that "a lot has happened over this past year.”

For those who find Boris' name familiar, he famously dated Mediacorp actress Carrie Wong in 2019, and the former couple went IG official on Valentine's Day (Feb 14) that year. 

But in July 2020, slightly more than a year after Carrie's leaked DMs scandal involving ex-actor Ian Fang, the former quietly deleted all photos of Boris from her social media, sparking rumours that they'd called it quits.

He was then photographed out with Lorene in November the same year.

Dating rumours of Lorene and Boris heated up after he was spotted spending the night at her home then, and their relationship was confirmed when they were seen kissing — twice! — in the Instagram Stories from his 2022 birthday celebration.

But now, it seems like Lorene and Boris have gone their separate ways too.
