Here's Why Bill Gates Uses A Samsung Galaxy Phone
'Relatable' is not the first word that comes to mind when you think of Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, and one of the richest people in the world with an estimated net worth of US$108.9bil (S$139bil).
However, there might just be one thing that connects us with the 69-year-old. And that's our love for... freebies?
Bill Gates appeared on the latest episode of South Korean talk show You Quiz on the Block, where he was asked about the phone he uses a — Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series phone.
You would think Bill Gates, the tech guy, would be picky when it comes to his own smart devices. As it turns out, the Samsung phone was a gift.
Grinning, he said: "Actually J.Y. Lee gave it to me, so I didn't have to pay for it."
J.Y. Lee, for those who don't know, is Lee Jae Yong, the executive chairman of Samsung Electronics.
Bill, whose response left the show's hosts tickled, also said his Samsung Galaxy Z Fold is a "very good model".
Bill Gates also candidly spoke about how much he spends in a day.
"I live in quite a nice house, and I have a very large garden. There are people who cook delicious food for me, and I also fly on private jets," he shared.
While he donates a large portion of his wealth to various causes under the Gates Foundation, he also admitted that he feels guilty about his lavish lifestyle. "I spend quite a lot of money," he said.
In summary, Bill and us? Not the same.
