HK Actress Bella Lam On Reports That Her Mum Pays For Gigolos: "She Has The Freedom To Make Friends"

When confronted by the media, Bella, 29, confirmed that the woman in the screenshots is her mum, adding that the men are her mother's friends.

“My mum has the freedom to make friends with whoever she wants. I’ve never interfered in her private life," the actress said.

She also added that the person who leaked the messages “suddenly brought up their credit card debt [to her mother] after knowing that [she's] her daughter.”

According to Bella, the person started threatening Bella's mum when she refused to pay up, before going to the media after failing to get the money.

Bella has since reported the matter to the police.

“My mother has been under tremendous stress for a long time, [which resulted in] depression. She single-handedly raised me and my older sister. I hope that I can allow to live her life worry-free and be a filial [daughter]," said Bella.

Bella and her mother went viral earlier this year after an old interview of them talking about how they begged for money on the streets resurfaced.

At that time, both mother and daughter were praised by netizens for staying strong despite their difficult circumstances.
