Anthony Wong is known as one of Asia's best dramatic actors, but we think even the thespian himself is blown away by all the movie script-worthy drama surrounding his personal life in recent months. No need to worry, though. Anthony's story has a (mostly) happy ending. In March, a decades-long search for his long-lost British father, Frederick William Perry, finally led him to his two half-brothers, 74-year-old twins John and David Perry. Then this week Anthony revealed that he had an illegitimate son. This was after a woman named Joyce disclosed to Apple Daily that she gave birth to his son, William, 19, (pictured) in Britain in 1998. Anthony added that he and his son had dinner in Hong Kong the same week the news was leaked before William returned to Britain, where he lives.

Is Wong Wrong?
The 56-year-old actor, who has two other sons, met Joyce when she was 17 and they dated for 10 years. According to reports, Joyce, who's also the niece of veteran actor and producer John Shum, was married twice in UK and has two children with her current husband. While Anthony might not have been present for William's childhood, he had bought a house in the UK for William and Joyce and has been giving them HK$25,000 ($4,370) every month for schooling fees and other expenses. Anthony has since accused Joyce of making the news public because he started depositing the allowance into William's account directly, for fear of Joyce pocketing the money. She had reportedly sold the house and moved to a suburban area, where the standard of living is lower. In response to Anthony's accusation, Joyce told the media: "If I want fame, why wait until now?" and "What do I get in return?" She also revealed that after deducting money William’s school fees out of Anthony’s monthly allowance them, she would hand over the rest of the money to her son. She then hinted that Anthony was full of lies, and that at least the she and her son no longer have to lead their lives in the shadows. Whether Anthony had done something wrong to trigger Joyce's expose we might never know... But to Anthony, "the matter is over"". Anthony also told the media that he feels relieved now, but remain concerned about how the news would impact on William. He added that he does not have any more illegitimate children.

A Singapore construction site has reached 6 million accident-free man hours, marking a major safety milestone in one of the country’s highest-risk industries. Accident-free man hours refer to the total number of hours worked across all workers without a single injury, often used as a benchmark for workplace safety performance in construction projects. While such achievements are widely celebrated, Singapore’s construction sector continues to face challenges, with dozens of deaths and major injuries reported in 2025 alone. At the same time, improvements in worker welfare — including upgraded dormitories with better living conditions, recreational facilities, and shared spaces — are becoming a key part of the broader push towards safer worksites. #8dayssg #8dayssgtrending #singapore #sgnews #migrantworkers
