Taiwanese singer Annie Yi has never been one to mince her words, but she recently found herself the target of online hate after making insensitive remarks about late Cantopop icon Anita Mui while on a talk show. Since then, every move 52-year-old star has made has been slammed by netizens, so much so that one can't help but feel sorry for her.

And it seems her own mother-in-law has an issue with Annie being too quick with her words, as viewers saw on a recent episode of reality show My Dearest Ladies.

The show, which stars the singer, her actor husband Qin Hao and with his mother, saw the latter first praise Annie for being “kind, yet strong”.
