You'll Never Guess What Andy Lau's Wife Calls Him In Private

Last week, 63-year-old Heavenly King Andy Lau made the news when he almost fell off a 4m-high extended platform during his concert in Shanghai.

The near-accident left many in shock, including Andy's long-time pal Hong Kong film producer Tiffany Chen.

Tiffany would later go on to share the messages she shared with Andy's wife Carol Chu about the incident.

In her chat, Tiffany told Carol that she had warned Andy "not to perform [such dangerous acts] anymore".

Carol replied: "Yeah, everyone's hearts dropped. Luckily, he held on to the floor with his hands to 'brake' in time."

Carol then added that Andy has quick reflexes which were honed from his early days as an actor.

"If he was just a singer, he probably would have fallen off," she said.

According to Carol, many other people also called the Heavenly King and urged him to stop performing such dangerous stunts after that night.

Carol went on to reply to a voice message sent by Tiffany, which was when she revealed her pet name for Andy.

She said: "Everyone knows you're really close to 'Niu' [Chinese for 'cow']! That's why they approached you. They were just hoping you could help convince 'Niu' to stop engaging in such dangerous acts."

Yes, Carol calls Andy not 'baby', not 'honey', but 'cow'.

Netizens think the nickname may have something to do with Andy's Chinese Zodiac sign.

The moo-vie star was born in 1966, which was the year of the 'Ox'.

Also, the ox is known as a symbol of hard work and there's no star as hardworking as Andy Lau.

We wonder if other people are gonna start calling Andy 'Niu' from now on too
