Andy Lau Thinks Standards For Actors Are So Low Now, Even Being Punctual Is Considered A Virtue

Hongkong Heavenly King Andy Lau, who has been in showbiz for close to 40 years, isn’t just known as one of the biggest superstars in Asia — he’s also frequently praised for being professional and hardworking, making him a role model to many.

The 59-year-old father-of-one is also extremely humble… which is why he doesn’t think those traits are that big of a deal. Recently, an old interview that Andy did with Chinese talk show host Chen Luyu resurfaced and went viral on Weibo. In the clip, he got candid about how he thinks expectations for actors these days are much lower than before as even basic behaviour is put on a pedestal.

“It’s not that I’m particularly dedicated,” he mused. “It’s just that the current standards have changed.”
