Andy Lau on the mend

The Heavenly King’s condition is improving, according to fellow actor Michael Miu

Andy Lau on the mend

Hong Kong Heavenly King Andy Lau injured his back and fractured his pelvic bone when he was thrown off a horse and stepped on during an accident on set in Thailand early this month (Jan 17).

He reportedly spent the festive weekend hospitalised because his request for discharge was rejected due to the swelling at his back, but Hong Kong actor Michael Miu assured the media that “everything is okay!”

Michael visited Andy recently with his wife, fellow actress Jaime Chik and shared that the actor was “no longer hurting” and was “in good spirits.” He also shared that they exchanged red packets with each other for their daughters in the spirit of Chinese New Year and talked about the accident during the visit.

When asked if he knew when the 55 year-old actor would be discharged, he answered, “Soon, soon, don’t worry!”

Andy was advised by the doctor to be hospitalised for at least eight weeks and to go through nine months of physiotherapy before he can make a full recovery. It is likely that he will not be able to work for the rest of the year.
