Andy Lau's 13-Year-Old Daughter Brags "My Dad Is Andy Lau" But No One Believes Her
When you have a superstar for a dad, it would be hard not to brag about him from time to time.
And that’s what Heavenly King Andy Lau’s daughter Hanna, who turns 13 on May 9, did. Except the reaction she received was not quite what she expected.
Recently, when promoting his new film, thriller A Gilded Game, Andy, 63, made a rare and candid mention of his daughter during an interview.
He revealed Hanna once told her classmates “My dad is Andy Lau”, but no one believed her.
When asked if she asked him to prove it, he responded laughing: "It was just for fun."
Well, we can’t blame Hanna’s classmates. After all, Andy is fiercely protective of his family and kept Hanna out of the public eye until she was five.
It was only in recent years, as his daughter has grown older, that he has gradually relaxed.
Hanna was spotted with her friends at Andy’s Hong Kong concert in December last year.
She was photographed sitting in the front row, and netizens praised her beauty even with a mask on.
On a separate note, Hong Kong director Wong Jing recently shared about the father-daughter pair on his YouTube channel Wong Jing World.
He praised Hanna as exceptionally talented and can speak five languages.
“Whenever Andy talks about his daughter, he smiles from the heart," said Wong Jing.
The director also expressed admiration for Andy’s wife, former Malaysian beauty queen, Carol Chu, 50.
Recalling the difficulties she went through when the couple was secretly dating, Wong Jing said she had to sneak into movie theatres 10 minutes after the show started and leave 10 minutes before it ended to avoid media attention.
“Being Andy Lau’s girlfriend was really no easy task. I think Mrs Lau truly endured a lot,” he said.
