'80s Sex Bomb Amy Yip, 55, Buys S$6mil Penthouse In Hongkong
The ex-Category III actress has kept a low profile ever since retiring from showbiz in 1994.
Back in the '80s and early '90s, former Category III actress, Amy Yip, 55, was one of Asia's most famous women. If her name doesn't ring a bell for you, just ask your dad or your granddad.
She was known for her ample assets and tiny, tiny waist and had a massively successful career as a soft porn actress. Then, in 1994, she traded in the limelight for a quieter, less hectic lifestyle with her boyfriend, surgeon Dr Sammy Lui.
Still, Amy leaves behind a lasting cinematic legacy and remains one of Asian showbiz's most iconic sex bombs.
Recently, it was reported that Amy had successfully auctioned for a HK$36mil (S$6.3mil) three-bedroom penthouse apartment in Ho Man Tin.
The luxurious apartment spans 1132 sq ft, and overlooks Kowloon City and Lion Rock, which is a huge luxury in Hongkong, by the way.
Amy starred a number of films after graduating from Asia Television’s artiste training class in 1985. Some of her notable works include Erotic Ghost Story (1990) and Sex and Zen (1991), which is the highest grossing Category III film of all time in Hongkong.
Though Amy left showbiz so she could spend more time with Dr Sammy, whom she started dating in 1992, the two were never married.
Sadly, Dr Lui passed away from a heart attack while on a plane to America in 2018.
Since then, Amy has been living alone and is often seen taking her dog out for walks.
According to the Hongkong media, Amy is almost unrecognisable these days and no longer has her iconic figure.
