Alyssa Chia comes down with a case of viral conjunctivitis
The actress apologised in advance for her appearance at upcoming events
Taiwanese actress Alyssa chia has been piled up with work recently, affecting her immune system and health.
Yesterday (August 27) night, the 43-year-old uploaded a post whilst heading to Shanghai, China for work, sharing that she had contracted viral conjunctivitis. In the first picture, the actress holds a towel to her eye with a somber expression. In the second picture, she dons a pair of spectacles, with one lens clear, and the other being a tinted sunglass lens.
“This is the first time my viral conjunctivitis has worsened, causing keratitis (inflammation of the cornea)…,” she wrote. “My immune system is weakened, so it was easier for me to get infected.”
As the actress will be making a public appearance at an event soon, she decided to post about her condition on Facebook beforehand, to seek for the public’s understanding.
Other than apologising for letting her sickness affect her work, Alyssa also worried that she might infect her children, 3-year-old Bubu and 1-year-old Bobo.
Alyssa is married to Taiwanese actor Xiu Jie Kai, with whom she has two daughters, Bubu and Bobo.
