The actor had to undergo a third surgery last night after his condition took a turn for the worse.
Update (3:30pm): Aloysius Pang is now on artificial life support.
“CFC (NS) Pang's condition is very serious and he needs artificial life support for his lungs, kidneys and heart,” wrote Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen on Twitter.
Dr Teo Li Tserng, Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, is also now in New Zealand and is "working with the New Zealand medical team to provide the best care" for Aloysius. The actor's parents and two older brothers as well as his boss Dasmond Koh are also currently in New Zealand.
The 28-year-old actor was said to be taking part in an overseas military exercise as an Armament Technician when he sustained injuries to his chest and abdominal areas while carrying out repair works inside the Singapore Self-Propelled Howitzer (SSPH) at Waiouru Training Area. According to Dasmond, Aloy's injury happened when he was “pinned” by “something that fell on him".
