Aloysius Pang And Jayley Woo’s Secret, Tragic Love Story: “In The Next Lifetime, We Must Be Husband-And-Wife”
We’re crying, you’re crying.
Over the years that 8 DAYS had known Aloysius Pang, he had struck us as a gentle soul. An intelligent actor who had maturity and depth way beyond his young age. Like everybody else, we were saddened to hear of his passing after he got seriously injured in an accident during his reservist training in New Zealand.
As it turns out, the 28-year-old’s biggest role wasn’t the one he played on-screen; it was the one he played in people’s lives. He was the ‘Dai Lo’ (big brother and boss in Cantonese slang) to his fellow Dukes Ian Fang and Shane Pow. He impressed his showbiz seniors like Zoe Tay with his thoughtfulness (Ah Jie had reminisced on Instagram about Aloy going out of his way to send her home after work). His co-star Jeremy Chan recalled how Aloy had been the first to check on him, when he was hit hard by a stray football while they were filming the Ch 8 drama World at Your Feet.

The duo sparked dating rumours in 2015 when they acted as a couple in the Ch 8 dramas Tiger Mum and Super Senior, though they had both dismissed the speculation. "If something happens, it happens, but at the moment, I don’t have feelings for Jayley," said Aloysius in a Toggle interview.
When news of his death broke, Jayley revealed on her Instagram ( @jiaqiwoo) that she and Aloy had, in fact, been in a secret relationship for several years. Their pairing was so low-profile, no media outlet caught wind of Jayley flying to New Zealand with Aloysius' family to visit him in hospital. She had also kept mum about her trip on social media and merely posted photos of herself with Aloysius, fervently hoping that he will make a full recovery.
If Aloysius’ death had seemed surreal — it was mere minutes ago that we watched him on Toggle while writing this story — Jayley’s heartbreaking Instagram posts cemented the fact that Singapore had lost one of its brightest stars all too soon. In a long series of Instagram Stories, she recounted the private moments and romantic milestones they had shared in their relationship, the unexpected revelation of their love for each other would leave only the most hard-hearted person unmoved…
