Yesterday (Apr 23), Chinese blogger Grace Chow sent shockwaves across the Asian entertainment scene with a Weibo post that not only confirmed her long-rumoured split from Show Luo, but included shocking allegations of cheating, one-night stands, and what she euphemised as “multi-player sports” (um, think about it in an R21 way).

In the Taiwanese singer’s initial response, which was also uploaded to Weibo a few hours later, he apologised for “taking up public resources” with his personal affairs, vowed to self-reflect on his mistakes, and thanked his ex-girlfriend for the past nine years of love.

This time, Level 2 had noticeably more people around, from teenagers and tourists to older shoppers. More importantly, shoppers were actually interacting with the stalls, trying things on and making purchases, rather than simply browsing and walking through. There are still plenty of shuttered units, and Level 2 remains much quieter than the ever-busy ground floor, but the atmosphere felt noticeably livelier during our visit. Bugis Street is also hosting its “Somewhere @ Bugis Street” weekend events as part of its ongoing efforts to bring more activity to the area.
