Celebrities and fans are mourning the death of Hongkong actor Ng Man Tat who passed away on Saturday (Feb 27) after a battle with liver cancer. According to reports, Man Tat’s family was by his side when he passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was 70.

Yesterday (Feb 28), Hongkong singer-actor Alex To posted a heartwarming tribute to Man Tat on Facebook, reminiscing about the times they shared on set and the impact the late actor had on his life.

The first time they worked together was on 2004 Chinese period drama Young People of Border Town, where they played a pair of low-ranking officials. Alex said that though they were only on set together for two months, Man Tat left a deep impression on him.

"Not only did he teach me what being a good actor means, he also showed me what a 'heroic' senior he was," wrote Alex, 59.
