Age-Defying 60-Yr-Old HK Actor Performs Martial Arts On The Street

Hong Kong actor Derek Kwok Jing Hung left TVB in 2015, ending his 30-year long contract with the broadcaster. He later signed to a Mainland Chinese company, and has been spending majority of recent years working in China.

Derek, who turns 61 in November, has remained active on Xiaohongshu, often posting clips of cooking tutorials, vlogs, and collabs with celeb pals.

Of late, a netizen spotted Derek performing martial arts on Kowloon City's Kun Yam Street. The netizen mentioned that it was "Master Derek Kwok's performance at Hung Hom Guan Yin's Birthday 2025."

Armed with a long spear, Derek's impressive martial arts display wowed the crowd, drawing cheers and applause from bystanders.

But more than being awestruck by his masterful movements, netizens were amazed that Derek looked exactly the same as he did 10 years ago.

Many praised him for maintaining his youthful appearance. "He's around the same age as Ray Lui and Aaron Kwok, but Derek still looks young and spiffy," wrote one netizen.

Another very complimentary comment also read: "He doesn't look like 60 at all, he comes off more like a young guy in his 30s."

It turns out that Derek has quite the background in martial arts, too. Being a fan of Wong Fei Hung's movies since a young age, he began learning Choy Lee Fut wushu at the age of 10, and had went on to explore other forms of kung fu with different masters as he grew older. He participated in various wushu competitions, where he was awarded with two bronze medals, and a gold medal.

Fans of Derek would have watched him put his martial arts skills to good use in shows such as The Legend of the Condor Heroes (1994), Journey to the West (1996), Twin of Brothers (2004), Lethal Weapons of Love and Passion (2006), and many more TVB dramas.

Perhaps the regular practice of martial arts is his secret to staying youthful?
