Entering showbiz at a young age can be difficult at times. For Taiwanese star Aaron Yan, 40, the danger apparently came in the form of repeated sexual harassment from his co-workers back in their heyday.

In a recent podcast, the ex-Fahrenheit member opened up about an experience he endured when the group was promoting their first album back in 2006.

At that time, Aaron was only 21 years old.

“Back then we had to go for dance rehearsals every day. We had an outsourced publicity staff and every day when we got on [our transport van], he would make us play a game called 'drawing a lucky ball'," he scoffed.

"He would first put his hand into my pants to touch me, then everyone else would join in."

Wait, what?

When the host pointed out that the behaviour basically counts as "sexual harassment", Aaron then deadpanned: "It is".

According to Aaron, the inappropriate touching continued throughout the album’s promotional run, and he had no choice but to “cooperate” with the others.

"Of course I resisted, but I would just laugh through it," he recalled.

When asked if "other people", presumably his fellow Fahrenheit group mates — namely Jiro Wang, Wu Chun and Calvin Chen — participated too, Aaron then said: "They did!"

“They probably thought it was just fooling around, like straight guys doing ‘Aluba’ to each other," he explained.

Aluba, aka "Happy Corner", is a prank that happens in China, Taiwan or Hong Kong, in which the victim is lifted up by several perpetrators — usually boys — who would bump his groin against a pole-shaped object.

Why didn't Aaron say something then?

Well, the actor said he did not dare report the harassment to the company at the time, and the experience has since become a painful memory he still cannot erase.

Speaking about the ordeal years later — 14 years after the group disbanded, to be exact — Aaron said he was not sharing his story to accuse anyone.

"But because I’m using all my strength to try to make the environment I’m in safer and more friendly," he posited.

So nasty.
