While Heavenly King Aaron Kwok has a reported US$20mil net worth, his family has never relied on him financially and have chosen to live their lives as regular people.

The star grew up with two older brothers and two older sisters. His second brother, Kwok Fukan tragically died in an armed robbery in 1991. Aaron still maintains a close relationship with his sisters, who reportedly helped plan his wedding to Moka Fang in 2017 as he was busy with work.

Still, it did not make it any less shocking when Hong Kong media recently revealed that Aaron’s sister, Kwok Fengqun, lives in a government-subsidised flat meant for low-income families.

Here's the mess that was cleared out of her house

According to reports, Fengqun’s house hasn't been cleaned in years, and as such, was filled with trash.

Last month, she reportedly hired cleaners to tidy up her house, and was specifically reminded to keep her valuables in a secure place aka her locked cupboard.

And since Fengqun could not find the key to her cupboard, she thought her valuables would be safe there. After all, if even she didn’t have access to it, how would the cleaners?

According to Fengqun, she saw her missing key sitting atop her cupboard after the cleaners were done with their job. She then discovered that all the valuables in her cupboard had “disappeared”.

Her lost items included diamonds, a gold necklace, and a limited-edition watch that Aaron had given their late mother. She estimated her missing valuables to be worth at least HK$1mil (S$170K).

The person who recommended Fengqun the cleaning service got in touch with the cleaners, but was told that there was always someone present supervising them while they worked.

They insisted that it was impossible for them to have stolen anything, and insinuated that Fengqun was making false accusations as she was “not willing to pay the cleaning fee that amounted to tens of thousands of dollars”.

When said person got back to Fengqun to clarify the situation, the latter claimed she had already made a police report.

However, when a Hong Kong reporter sought to ask Fengqun for more details regarding the case, she changed her tune, saying she “did not call the police”.

As of press time, the truth about Fengqun’s lost valuables saga remains a mystery.

Fengqun also expressed her unhappiness at the cleaners.

She said “those people” had cleared out everything in her house, including furniture and electronics. As a result, she is unable to continue living in her house, and is temporarily staying with her daughter.

When asked whether Aaron is aware of the situation, Fengqun said that she did not want to trouble him, before adding: “This is my own matter.”
