Heavenly King Aaron Kwok, 58, had a close relationship with his mother. She passed away in Feb 2020 at the age of 90, when Aaron was away in New York for his concert.

Aaron was in Beijing recently for the premiere of his new film, Lai Zi Wang Xing De Ni (来自汪星的你). He revealed that he was deeply touched during the filming of the movie, which revolves around the theme of kinship.

He was reminded of his late mother, and expressed his regret for not being around for her final moments.

Aaron choked up while talking about her, and was teary-eyed as he continued with a shaky voice.

“My parents are no longer around. My mum really doted on me, and I really doted on her too. I was not in Hong Kong when my mum left. Actually, I’ve held on to this regret… I can only say that I still feel sad on quiet late nights. I feel like she’s still here, and she never left me,” he said.

While working on the movie, Aaron was reminded of the importance of spending time with his loved ones. He makes it a priority to set aside time for his daughters, seven-year-old Chantelle and five-year-old Charlotte.

“Life is short, and we [must] cherish the present, so no matter how busy I am, I will video call them, chat with them, and show them concern, in hopes that they will be happy,” he said.
