The recent episode of TVB variety show TVB 55th Anniversary Footprint (新光汇聚成翡翠) detailed 56-year-old Aaron Kwok's meteoric rise to Heavenly King.
While it's common knowledge that Aaron started out as a backup dancer with TVB, few people are aware of his career before that.
A younger, equally fine-looking Aaron
Aaron was just 18 when he applied to become a TVB dancer in 1984. According to his application form, he was working as an aircon technician and was earning HK$1700 (S$310) a month.
It was also stated that the person who recommended Aaron to apply for the gig was a TVB “canteen boy”.
Attached to his application form was a passport-sized photo of a young Aaron, who already looked every bit a star.
After the episode aired, many viewers went online to gush about Aaron's good looks, with some pledging their loyalty towards their idol, and others calling him their “forever prince charming”.
