If you think that having rich and famous parents would guarantee a perfect, smooth-sailing, and worry-free life, think again. Sure there are perks like getting invited to exclusive parties, enjoying an added advantage in your career, inheriting camera-ready good looks, and living in fancy houses, but celeb offspring are normal people too with their fair share of troubles — and no, we’re not talking about shallow first-world problems.

Victoria Wu, the 21-year-old daughter of retired Category III actress and ‘90s sex symbol Veronica Yip, is the latest celeb kid to open up about her private struggles, just a month after Jet Li’s 17-year-old daughter Jada shared a candid Instagram post about her battle with mental health issues.

After marrying Chinese-American businessman Jeffrey Wu in 1998, Veronica, now 53, retired from showbiz and left Hongkong for New York. The couple now owns a supermarket chain and have investments in banking, aviation, and real estate, and Jeffrey’s net worth is estimated to be a whopping HK$8bil (about S$1.5bil).
