Patrick Tse is reportedly devastated by his breakup with his much younger girlfriend.

After dating on and off for 13 years, Hongkong actor Patrick Tse, 81, recently called it quits with his Shanghainese model-girlfriend, Coco, 32.

The pair got together in 2005, shocking many with their 49-year age gap. Coco is also three years younger than Patrick’s daughter Jennifer Tse.

Throughout the romance, Patrick (who’s also Nicholas Tse’s father) dropped TMI revelations, including his, um, thriving sex life with Coco.

“Why did people have so many children in the past? ’Cos there were no other entertainment. [Making babies] was their only entertainment, and I had this form of ‘entertainment’,” he bragged.

Sadly, having an active sex life could not save their relationship as Patrick has been quoted as saying, "Even eating Viagra could not have prevented the split."

But the octogenarian doesn’t just talk like a hormonal teenage boy; he was said to have dressed young when he was with Coco too, presumably to reduce their obvious age gap.

He was also reported to have bought her lots of gifts and sponsored her studies in England, though Patrick later denied to journos that he had funded her tuition fees.

Despite their, er, intimate relationship, Patrick had apparently refused to marry Coco due to his two previous failed marriages. "I already had two failed marriages. Moreover I am already in my 80s," he said. He divorced Taiwanese actress Zhen Zhen in 1976, and Hongkong actress Deborah Lee (with whom he had Nicholas and Jennifer) in 1995.

It was rumoured that his refusal to marry had caused a rift between the couple, and Coco, who was usually seen with Patrick, was noticeably absent in recent months.

In 2016, Jennifer Tse revealed in an interview that she had called her father after hearing persistent rumours that Patrick was expecting a child with Coco.

While it turned out that Coco was not pregnant, Jennifer quipped: “I experienced how [my father] would usually yell at people. He almost punched me into the wall, so I immediately said, ‘Okay, love you, bye’ and hung up right away!”

The Hongkong media has reported that Patrick was devastated about his breakup. He lamented: “Not being in love is worse than death! I told my family and friends how boring [my life] has been. It's really depressing. My house is big and every day when I wake up, I look at the sea and eat alone. It’s so dull. I’m really happy that there are jobs knocking on my door because it feels like I’m serving time in prison [with nothing to do].”

Fortunately, his friends all rallied to cheer him up. He was spotted with his long-time friend, Hongkong actor David Chiang, drinking at a Chinese restaurant and talking about his relationship woes. Hongkong paparazzi later reported that Patrick got tipsy during the dinner and was seen stumbling to his car.

He also sought out his ex-wife Deborah Li, with whom he’s still close to, and they were seen shopping together with Deborah’s current husband Kong Yiu Sing.

Considering that the Tses often hog headlines for their dramatic love lives ( Nicholas getting back with Faye Wong! Jennifer dating Jeremy Renner!), we wouldn’t be surprised if Patrick springs another plot twist on us.
