We love a good rice bowl, but spoiled gluttons that we are, we often find ourselves bored after shovelling the fifth spoonful of this one-dish meal into our mouths. Plus, when faced with an extensive menu, we tend to want to eat everything. Which is why we like the idea of Sora Boru (the word “boru” is a playful take on the way the Japanese pronounce “bowl”). At this quick-service Japanese restaurant which opened in March, the rice bowls come in mini or regular sizes, so when you find yourself torn between the likes of a bara chirashi (chopped raw fish on rice) bowl or Volcano Beef Don (the spicy sauce running down the sides of the pile of beef resembles a volcano erupting), you can have both in mini portions.
