Xing Fu Tang Introduces New Christmas Mojitos That Even The Kids Can Drink
Fun, festive and refreshing.
While the rest of the world stays warm over hot cups of cocoa and eggnog this time of year, Taiwanese bubble tea chain, Xing Fu Tang, will be getting into the Christmas spirit Singapore-style, with chilly non-alcoholic tea-infused mojitos to be enjoyed anytime of the day.
Fab news for those who are lactose-intolerant or prefer milk-free drinks, as the moji-teas will be served in a choice of either rose tea or green tea bases, and infused with fresh mint leaves, soda water, sugar and lime. No pearls, either — all the better to save stomach space for more festive eating.
The mojito-teas will be around for a limited time only, but a company rep said that if the response is good, they may consider making these drinks permanent additions to the menu.
Almost like a real mojito
The Green Tea Mojito ($4.90), which tastes almost like the real thing without the rum, strikes the perfect balance between sweet and tang, but cut with the herby quality of the green tea. It’s super refreshing for our all-year-round humid weather.
The photogenic spritzer
The caffeine-free Rose Tea Mojito ($4.90), infused with aromatic dried Damascus rose petals imported directly from Taiwan, tastes almost similar to the green tea version, but has a delightful floral aroma when you take in a deep whiff. It’s definitely the more ‘grammable of the two because of the ombre effect it creates when the dark pink hue of the tea meets the translucent citrusy-sweet soda. The green of the mint leaves in contrast to the pink is also a lovely nod to the season’s festive colours.
For the traditionalist
Can’t live without bobas in your drink? No problem. Known for its hugely popular Brown Sugar Boba Milk, Xing Fu Tang prepares its famous bobas fresh everyday using a blend of tapioca starch and 100% all-natural brown sugar. It is interesting to note that the bobas are preservative- and additive-free.
Bubbling bobas on show
The perfectly-portioned pearls are first cooked and then stir-fried on-site in a giant wok filled with more brown sugar. What you get are warm, chewy-like-mochi boba pearls with a delicious caramelly aroma. The traditional process of stir-frying (bobas) in front of its customers sets Xing Fu Tang apart from its rivals.

Need a caffeinated pick-me-up? For milk tea lovers, Xing Fu Tang offers Milk Tea and Oolong Milk Tea versions with Brown Sugar Boba.
